The Full Story

We discovered corrugated plastic at an agriculture show back in 1986. There was a demonstration of tomato hot caps made with the material. What impressed us most were the results - results verified by independent research: accelerated plant growth, increased fruit production, and best of all...an earlier harvest!

With our interest in gardening and backgrounds in biology and plant science, we saw an entirely different opportunity. We saw the opportunity to develop an attractive, affordable greenhouse...a greenhouse for the average home gardener...a greenhouse that put function over fancy.

We knew our greenhouse had to be environmentally friendly. It also needed to be lightweight, inexpensive, easy to ship and most of all strong...strong enough to withstand heavy winds and snow. It also needed to help gardeners like you grow healthier, stronger plants. The greenhouse we introduced three years later met those goals.

Farm Wholesale's Solexx™ greenhouses feature a unique combination of steel, outdoor grade PVC and composite tubing (the same material use to make bridges) to give you years of service with absolutely no maintenance required - just put it up and use it. • The Solexx Garden Oasis Greenhouse is our most popular greenhouse. With four 8' bench frames in the Oasis model you get about 76sq. ft. of bench area in the basic 8' x 8' unit. The 6'5" door height provides plenty of headroom for the taller gardener. All Solexx greenhouses comes standard with a large louvered vent and are covered with our 3.5mm twin-walled Solexx™ greenhouse paneling.
• The Solexx Harvester Greenhouse is designed to hug the side of your house, hedge, garage, sit easily on deck, or stand alone on a stable foundation. The Harvester provides the best of both worlds: a single bench frame for easy work-space or taller plants and a double-decker bench frame for growing space. Perfect for use on a deck or patio, all Havester models are completely enclosed for maximum strength, insulation, and solar heat collection.
• The Solexx Conservatory Greenhouse is perfect for the business-minded gardener! The storage and workspace available in this model is great for the beginning commercial operation. These spacious greenhouses give you the most growing area. Conservatory's feature two single level steel-reinforced side benches and a large 5' wide, double-decker, steel-reinforced central bench unit.

• The Solexx Garden Master Greenhouse with 6'6" outer walls and a gable that peaks at 8'9", has ample room to trellis plants like cucumber, cantaloupe and tomatoes. When you complete your Garden Master Greenhouse, you will be amazed at how much room you have to nurture and grow all your favorite flowers, herbs and vegetables. Like all Solexx greenhouses, the Gold Garden Master is freestanding and requires no special foundation or site preparation, just level the ground beneath it.
• Our Early Bloomer Greenhouse is popular, functional, and affordable. A pair of overhead hanging rods provide ample space for all your favorite plants. The 6'3" height of the greenhouse allows the hanging rods to be easily accessible. The greenhouse is easily portable to place directly over your garden bed to start seeds early and extend your harvest into early winter. Or add heat and grow year round!

Cold Frame Kits are designed for those that have limited space:

• The Deluxe Cold Frame is perfect for starting seedlings in the spring, acclimating greenhouse-grown plants before transplanting them into the garden, or holding off the winter frost a little longer. Farm Wholesale's Deluxe Cold Frame gives you all the benefits of our greenhouses in a portable, convenient unit. Larger than most cold frames, the Deluxe Cold Frame is 8' long, 6' wide, and 31" high, providing ample storage space for those prized summer plants that you cannot bear to let wither away with the gray winter ahead.
• The Gable Cold Frame Featuring Heavy-Duty 1 ½" PVC Pipe. You cut the pipe to custom tailor the height (up to 31") and the length (up to 96"). Vertical side walls maximize your growing area. The Gable Cold Frame is covered with 3.5mm Solexx twin-walled panels so you can remove the glazing in the off season and disassemble the frame for easy storage. Optional wood frame available (wood not included).

A combination of our uniquely designed framing with double-walled Solexx covering creates a durable structure that withstands heavy snows and strong winds. The exterior 3.5mm Solexx covering fills the greenhouse with soft diffused light, ideal for plant growth. White galvanized screws with neoprene washers make it easy to attach the lightweight, flexible, Solexx covering to the frame.
